Tattle-Tale

Published under Humor.

When I was in high school, I tried to get out of reading books whenever I could.

In particular, I remember acing a test on To Kill a Mockingbird by renting and watching the movie.

It was the perfect crime. No one could easily track my rental.  Too bad today’s youth don’t have that advantage:

Either my town has a weakness for Steinbeck and 1940s dramas or there’s a book report due soon.

I’m gonna bet on the latter.

Crossing a Line

Published under Commentary, Humor.

I don’t usually talk about Politics (or Religion) on my blog, and I’ll keep this one short and without much of my own opinion.

As many know, Mitt Romney gave a speech yesterday on his LDS faith and how it may or may not affect his presidency. It was a fine speech which I think got his point across.

I have seen some criticism that is valid, but what I’m most dumbfounded over is the comments people are leaving with these articles.

One such commenter was arguing that the official church website was a biased source, and instead offers:

I strongly suggest anyone interested in the history of the Mormon religion … check out the South Park factual episode on the history of the religion; it’s spot on.

Are you kidding me?

If you are ever in an argument where you cite South Park as your source for … well, anything … you lose the argument. Automatically. There will be no more debate. The discussion is over.

It’s like Godwin’s law, only about South Park. We’ll call it Kenny’s law.

CNN Hijnks

Published under Humor.

I haven’t reported on silly CNN headlines lately, and today I don’t really have silly ones to report so much as poor placement of two different headlines.

At the time of this writing, the ‘Funny News’ section has the following two headlines:

Now, I don’t know about you but I have no desire to see photos of naked men shopping for skittles. As a matter of fact, I’m scared to even know what the headline is talking about.

No part of naked men shopping for skittles sounds fun to me. Coincidentally, the first headline leads to a video. I refuse to click it. I don’t want to see that sort of thing.

At least even CNN listed these headlines under funny news. That makes it a little bit better I guess.

Good Luck, FBI

Published under Humor.

CNN is reporting that the FBI searched a warehouse owned by magician David Copperfield.

Not a lot is known about what they were searching for.

Yah, good luck, FBI. If Copperfield doesn’t want you to find something, you won’t find it.

Sleepy Cryptids

Published under Humor.

I’m sleepy. I went to bed way past my bed time and didn’t sleep in nearly as much as I should have.

So instead of a thought provoking piece on the latest cryptid and why you should go out looking for it this weekend, I bring you this lolcat that literally made me laugh out loud.
