Children of Men

First things first. I said I was going to write a review of the Keith Urban concert and I never did. It’s too late now, so suffice it to say that the concert was awesome. I’m not a huge fan of Keith Urban music, but his concert is so much fun that I didn’t care.

With that out of the way, I watched Children of Men this weekend from the Netflix queue. It came highly(?) recommended from some friends of mine.

I didn’t care for it. It was hard to follow, and there didn’t really seem to be a good solid plotline.

The premise was awesome. This idea of a post apocalyptic world where the apocalypse was the cessation of the ability of the human race to conceive was a beautiful idea.

It just wasn’t very well realized for my tastes. It had a little bit of that 28 Days Later / I Am Legend vibe to it, but it didn’t get executed nearly as well in my opinion.

The weird animatronic/CG baby creeped me out and Julianne Moore may just be the absolute worst actress on the planet. I’m serious.

Perhaps it was solely her fault that The Lost World: Jurassic Park was so bad.

The camera work was pretty good, though.

Verdict: C- Tilt: D-
