So… recently one of my friends watched TMNT on cable and wrote his short review of it. That got me thinking about my review, so I looked it up…

And apparently there is no review for TMNT.

It is the strangest thing. I can remember writing it. I remember what I said about it. I remember my criticisms and my praise for it.

Yet it doesn’t exist in my blog. I have no idea how that slipped by. The Ninja Turtles are like my absolute favoritest things in the whole wide world.

So this is my chance at redemption. I watched the HD version on cable yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed my second viewing of the movie.

The movie was really spot on with the Turtles. Raph, Mikey, Leo, Donny — they were all exactly how they should be.

They looked right, they talked right, they acted right, and they moved right. It was a site to behold.

Some of the CG is downright amazing. It’s awesome that animated graphics can look more real than the rubber suits from the 1990 movie.

The humans weren’t quite as impressive as the turtles. It certainly feels like all the time was spent on the turtles, while everything else just tagged along behind. But that’s totally fine with me.

The plot was sorta silly, but it was good enough to be watchable.

More than anything, I feel that TMNT is an awesome start to what could be a new franchise. I can only hope they make more and more and more.

I can never get enough ninja turtles.

Verdict: A-
