I love EW.com. Whenever there is a day when I don’t know what to blog about, they are there to hold my hand with a nice list of something or other for me to latch on to.
They are an entertainment blogger’s warm, soft blanket and I salute them.
Today, I had two lists to choose from. One was titled “Portraits of fall TV’s hot stars” and the other was “Hollywood football hall of fame.”
Given that I try to throw in hot girls from time to time to keep my audience, I thought sure my choice would be the hot stars.
Then I realized that by hot stars they meant stars of popular shows. I couldn’t bring myself to write a post about Neil Patrick Harris being hot.
So instead you get football movies.
I love football, but I watch very little of it. When I watch at all, it’s college ball and usually the Texas A&M Aggies or at least some other Big 12 team that may directly affect the Aggies’ standings.
Looking over this list, I’m surprised to find that I also haven’t watched very many football movies. By my count, I’ve watched 5 out of 15 of the listed football movies.
So many of them seem to be movies of inspiration. Frankly, I don’t really need to be inspired most of the time so I don’t usually choose such movies.
My three favorite football movies (in no particular order) would easily be:
So two out of three made the list.
My fourth would probably be Necessary Roughness because anything with Jason Bateman, Scott Bakula, and Sinbad has to be a winner.
I’d also like to give a shout out to The Replacements because Neo as a quarterback is comedy gold.
What about you? What’s your favorite football movie of all time?
I think I’d rather see some Doogie.
I think you just invented the static image Rickroll.
