So today is the day that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix hits theaters.
I won’t lie and say I’m a Harry Potter fan. I’m really not. I haven’t read any of the books and most of the movies have been pretty mediocre in my opinion.
But I’ve invested into four movies so far and it’d be a shame to walk away at this juncture. Reviews are so far pretty decent with Rotten Tomatoes giving it 77% freshness.
As the movies have gotten darker, I’ve liked them a lot more but they still seem like a mishmash of plot with CG and bad acting. Don’t tell any Harry Potter fans that I said that, though. I value my life.
The joke around my house is that the only reason I even watch the Harry Potter movies at all is to anxiously await Hermione’s ascension to legal age (She’s not there yet, btw – Emma Watson was born in 1990.).
I can’t say that I’m awaiting this installment with any anticipation, but low expectations can sometimes yield good results. Look for my review tomorrow.
Not trying to say anything about anybody (myself included hee hee hee), but if Emma was born in 1990, then she was legal back in 2006. She’s British. Of course, you’d have to buy a ticket to London…
Oooh, a loophole.
