The Killer Tortoise

Published under Humor.

I’m taking a break from original writing today and instead showing you a video of the dangers of consorting with a known tortoise.

And that, my friends, is why the tortoise is one of the oldest living species on the planet. It’s easy to exist for millions of years when a cat can gnaw on your head and you just keep coming.

I had no idea they could be so aggressive! We have two cats and a tortoise at home and they’ve never gotten into this kind of fight.

I wish they would. It might teach my cats a few lessons.

  1. Ribozyme,

I used to have a very large Texas Tortoise (Gopherus berlandieri), more than a foot long and very heavy, and it would do the same thing to my dogs. And if you stood for a little while near the tortoise, it would attack your feet. It was a good thing it never bit, it just stepped on you (it must have weighed at least 40 lb).
