Since I’ve now become a slave to EW retrospectives, I feel compelled to post a link to any of them that even slightly interest me. Furthermore, I was at a loss for what to write about today. So I’m pretty much phoning it in. Sue me.
EW brings us The 25 Greatest Action Films Ever!
I was actually a little bit surprised by some of the movies on the list. Although I enjoyed The Incredibles, for instance, I’d hardly call it one of the best action movies ever.
I would have personally put Predator up a little bit higher, and taken some of the others down a few notches. I’m totally stoked to see RoboCop on the list. That movie was the bomb, yo!
I’m a little surprised that Stallone doesn’t have a showing — how could Rambo be left off of an action movie list?
And who takes numero uno? Bruce Willis, of course, with Die Hard. Unlike some of the other movies on the list, Die Hard was a pure action movie and I completely agree that it was one of the best ever.
i dunno about this list – speed?! the incrediles?! kill bill?! speed???!! me thinks i see a coincidence between #1 die hard and another pending theatrical release. the absence of stallone is also a glaring omission.
Speed wasn’t that bad, but you’re right probably not one of the best action movies ever.
I haven’t seen Kill Bill, so I dunno how actionerrific it is.
Stallone shows they don’t know what they’re talking about, though. And it is pretty coincidental that Die Hard wins only 2 weeks away from its sequel.
