Hiro and Parkman -- or is it Blumberg? So, for the past many months my wife and I have been watching Felicity on DVD. We’re up to season 4 and about to wave goodbye to the show, but a side-effect of watching shows on DVD is that you become much more saturated by the content than you would watching it weekly.

It’s doubly bad when you’re watching two shows that compliment or remind you of one another. Enter HeroesGreg Grunberg aka Matt Parkman is also in Felicity as Sean Blumberg. Naturally, comparisons are bound to be made, but more importantly he tends to stick out because I’m watching him on television a LOT.

His character in Felicity is constantly coming up with ideas that he hopes to market and get rich on. Things such as flavored pen-caps, Playing Card shirts, new condiments — the list goes on and on and on. It’s a humorous character quirk and some of his ideas aren’t that bad.

Anyway, the other day after washing my hands I was annoyed that the paper towel kept ripping because my hands were too wet to pull it out in one piece. And without thinking, I thought — Plastic-Tipped Paper Towels! — it would be great. Then wet hands could easily remove the paper towel without the annoyance of ripped paper towel pieces.

I almost laughed out loud when I realized how much of a Sean Blumberg moment I had just had. I could imagine myself trying to pitch it to my wife and trying to convince her that we should spend our savings on a trial run and sell it to local office supply stores. Luckily, I’m not that motivated.

I do have a friend who is, though, and he’s recently started a new blog. He’s always got an eye towards entrepreneurial possibilities, in a much less caricaturesque way. He promises that his blog will be everything a up-and-coming tech savvy person needs to tackle the world and make the most of it. Meet The Technonaut.
