On Saturday, February 10, 2007 I did something that was drastic — near unthinkable. After two years of loyal service to Blizzard Entertainment, I’ve canceled my World of Warcraft account.
How could I possibly do that so soon after the Burning Crusade came out? Hard to say. The game just doesn’t “do it” for me anymore. I tried to get back into it with the expansion, but I couldn’t get my rogue past 61 before getting bored again.
City of Heroes has been holding my interest much better and I just got a PS3 which is keeping me busy. Right now the focus is on Tony Hawk’s Project 8 which is great so far. The problems that some of the reviews have reported with framerates haven’t been an issue so far at all.
So… it seems only appropriate to have a moment of silence for the death of one of the most engaging hobbies that I’ve ever had.
